Number Three: Ebony Box Drum (SOLD)

I have a good friend who suggested that I should stain one in ebony. I am not sure if he was serious or not but I thought it turned out looking cool. Sounds great too. This is the third cajon I have made. It is made of 9-Ply Baltic Birch. It has dual 20 strand snares; top mounted. Snares are adjustable using screws on top. I added rubber feet just to give the front head (tapa) a little clearance when you set it down. D-shaped sound hole also serves as a great handle. You can hear how it sounds in the little clip below. Credit goes to Colbie Caillat who served this acoustic version of her song up on a radio site with no real limits on reproduction.
